(Date Posted:03/11/2009 10:38:11)

My name is Boris Korczak. I'm a Lithuanian-Pole who has been fighting against the Soviet Union all my life.

In Poland I joined the Polish (Anit-Soviet) underground in the 50's and after some time of "Punishing" the Soviets I was arrested.

To make a long story short my sentence was: "The defender has committed the worst crimes against the best system in the world.

…he organized armed bands of the enemies of the people, he is guilty of murder and attempted murder of heroic UB and Police patriots, the defenders of our progressive young socialistic state, and has instigated activities detrimental to the Peoples Republic of Poland, and acts deleterious to Poland’s friendly relations with our socialistic freedom defender - the USSR.
"

I spent quite some time in prison, I was originally sentenced to be executed but as I wasn't even 18 years old they reduced my sentence.

I was released from prison because I weighed about 70 pounds (I'm 5' 9") and they released me into my mother’s custody to die. Obviously I didn't die or this post would not be here.

I escaped from Poland and ended up in Denmark where after some years I opened electronics import and export business in the 1970's. In 1973 I ended up working for the CIA as I had very strong contacts with the KGB who liked to do business with me (my store) because I spoke, and still speak, fluent Russian.

In essence I worked as an Agent for the Central Intelligence Agency for 7 years, which is an impressive amount of time to be undercover. In 1979 my cover was blown and I, along with my family, had to flee Denmark. After securing the welfare of my wife and daughter I took my 7 year old son to the United States so that I could collect on all the promises the Agency made to me. Needless to say, the Agency turned their back on me, never paid me, never provided the "Security Umbrella" I was promised and certainly didn't even renew my visa so that I could have time to arrange anything in the United States.

I guess if the Soviets killed me then the Agency wouldn't have to pay as you can't pay a dead man.

In 1981 I was shot with a poison laced pellet while shopping with some friends and my young son in Vienna Virginia. It felt like a mosquito bight on my back just above the area where my kidney is. Two hours later my son makes a frantic phone call the only friends I had in the United States at the time, through tears he pleads with them "Please come over right away, I think daddy is dying." I had a fever of 106 and was in very bad shape when my friends arrived.

They tried to help as best they could and in one of my more lucid moments I told them to search for any stains on the clothing I wore that day that might indicate that I was poisoned by an aerosol method. Naturally nothing was found and they whisked me off to the hospital where doctors tried to stabilize me, did blood tests of all sorts and proclaimed that aside from my white blood-cell count being four times the norm they could not find anything wrong with me that would explain the blood-cells.

My friends took me home and were taking shifts, as often as they could, taking care of me and my Son. Several days later I felt something like a kidney stone passing through my system, so I had my son bring a whole pack of coffee filters and put them in my bathroom. I urinated through those filters until eventually I expelled a mass that looked like a blood clot. After examination of this blood clot I found it contained a very small metallic object.

I was still in no shape to do anything, I had high fevers and chills that were indescribable but during one of my "better" moments I took an eye lupe and examined the metal object and found that it was a perfect sphere that was cross drilled. It turns out that I had been shot in the same fashion that Georgi Markov was shot in 1978 and the pellet had contained ricin.

The only reason I survived was because I was fortunate that the pellet entered my kidney which my body treated like a kidney stone and limited my exposure to the ricin.

This post is extremely long as it is so I'll stop here. Let me just mention that I have Affidavits from Senator Charles Grassley and Congressman James Traficant Jr. that both state that I did infact work for the CIA and recently I received Cold War Commendations from the State Department with Donald Rumsfeld's autograph. All these things can be found on my website www.boriskorczak.com

You see, the CIA has tried to publicly deny that I worked for them, at which point I recorded my telephone conversation with Paul Shultz of the CIA who stated that the Agency and I had an arrangement and now the arrangement is completed. The only reason he let that slip is because he didn't know he was being recorded. This recording is also available at my website, I should be mentioned that Sen. Charles Grassley also appears in the second half of that video. On camera Sen. Grassley confirms my employment with the CIA, that piece of footage is from "The Jack Anderson Show" which was an investigative reporting coast to coast prime time show back in the 1980's. Jack Anderson, as is already obvious, did a show about me and my situation.

I'm not trying to plug my website but for those that are curious I selected the best television interviews I appeared on and made them available in the "media" section of my site.

Well, that is a summary of who I am and also my introduction. I look forward to many fruitful discussions with other Cold War vets to swap war stories, talk shop and to generally meet new people.

Stay safe.

BK

P.S. I have much more evidence that isn't online yet because I'm not certain if divulging certain documents would land me behind bars but I'm looking into the matter and if I can confirm that prison won't be in my future if I post that information then I will post the "bombshell" evidence/documents. For now, I have an "Evidence" section on my site for those that are interested.

Well, interesting or not that's my little part of "The Cold War". Hope I didn't frighten everyone away but sometimes truth is stranger then fiction. If there is one thing I'd like the current generation to understand is that there is no glamour to the type of work I did. There are no limitless expense accounts and no villains to gamble with in Monte Carlo.

You basically do your best and hope that you've made a difference in the world. If you want to know the truth, the people who do the leg work for The Agency are more like plumbers then superheros. You basically deal with a lot of crap while hoping you don't end up dead.

Nice to make your acquaintance Bill. What was your background in this fiasco known as the Cold War?

Stay safe.

I appologize if I broke forum etiquette and certainly didn't mean to be long winded. Just wanted to introduce myself and lay out all my cards on the table for the forum community.

I only mention this because I see other new members being welcomed and out of forty-some views I haven't gotten a single one.

Please advise me so I don't break forum etiquette next time I post.

I was really hoping to have some interesting discussions with the members of this community but I'm uncertain if I scared everyone away with my background story or my contributions to help win the Cold War.

Stay safe.

Boris,

Welcome. You have scared no one away that I know of. It's really been a slow week on the forum. I've read all your posts and it sounds like the CIA did a number on you. You've given us a lot to digest. If your familiar with aimoo, there is an internal email system, check it occasionally. Again, welcome.

Hello BK,

You may be on to something with the responses. When I first read your introduction, I thought, wow, how will the members respond. We are for the most part, military Veterans and our knowledge base comes from that experience. The ACWV does allow membership for Intelligence Agency personnel and we would be glad to have you as a member. Your experiences could help us fill in the blanks and maybe contribute to our main web-site.

Cautious is, I'm sure, how folks are reacting. It is easy to dupe people on the Internet and again, your experiences are totally foreign to most of us. It is info not easy for us to identify with or because of secrecy, verify.

I think your history is exactly what we lack here and I see this as a great opportunity for you to become a teacher of sorts for us military background types and at the same time, maybe you can learn from our history and understand our passion for simple recognition for a job well done.

Welcome aboard Boris.

Boris aka BK

Welcome to the ACWV site, I would have to agree with Paul as most might be cautious, and since this site has been slammed with spammers, we all could be a bit uncertain I'm sure you can undestand that! I for one was taken back because so much information was given. But that is also a good thing and thank you for the insite. I myself was a Marine doing what Marines do best training to fight & defend Freedom!

RE:Greetings from Ex-CIA Agent Boris Korczak
(Date Posted:03/13/2009 10:52:02)

Thank you everyone, I'm glad that you warmed up to me, at least a little bit.

My story has made more than a few people uncomfortable and even a few skeptical and I can understand that. This is part of the reason why there is a whole section of my website the presents the evidence that supports my claims.

Actually, if you watch the little video on the homepageyou have some very compelling proof from Paul Shultz and his infamous admission on my tape recorder as well as Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa who happily went on camera for the Jack Anderson show and stated openly that I am who I say I am, he also take a little dig at the CIA.

There is lots more information on the "evidence" page and you guys are welcome to read the bills introduced by Rep. Jim Traficant or the two affidavits from Grassley and Traficant.

On that same page you can listen to the eye witness who was with me when I was shot as well as my medical records from shortly after I began my dying proccess (obviously I didn't die). Ricin is one hell of a toxin and I don't recomend it to anyone.

I would also recomend taking a look at some of the television shows I was on in the 80's & 90's as you might get some of the "fill in the blank" answers you may be pondering.

The reason the CIA turned their back on me is because I was an Access Agent who wasn't an American citizen. It was much easier to just let me die then to have to fill out paperwork to uphold their contractual obligations. Also they would have plausible deniability that they had someone on the inside and to just write me off (after I'm dead) as some nut wanting to play James Bond or some other concocted story.

Vallery Plame (sp) was a different type of "Agent", although I am not putting down her work, the fact of the matter is that her extent of "Spying" was holding parties at her and her husbands house and the house was fully wiried. Maybe she even wore a wire in some instances, although I have no direct knowledge of her activites, just stating a pattern that diplomats wives sometimes did. Also, she was an American citizen.

Did you know that most "spies" are not Americans? I'm talking about the "spies" in the trenches. The reason is probably twofold, firstly- a foreigner can fit in much easier within just about any country (excluding USA ;-) and secondly, if they are exposed and killed then the CIA can just act like nothing happened.

What made me valuable to them was that I spoke and still speak fluent "Classical" Russian (Keep in mind that I'm a Lithuanian-Pole) so as a child I had Russian nannies, Polish friends and School etc.

Thirdly, I managed to convince the Soviets that I wasn't "one of them" but rather, that I "enjoyed the thrill" that they were able to offer me. It was the only way they would accept that a Pole, who had served time in prison for political reasons, would want to have anything to do with them. Sort of a soldier of fortune type situation, or so they thought and I wanted them to believe. This was very valuable to the CIA and they kept me as a double for 7 years.

Then my cover was blown and the CIA was keeping it's fingers crossed that I would be killed. My case officer fled the country in the middle of the night (though he was officially an American diplomat so he was in no danger) and the next time I talked to him he was in Virginia and telling me to "lie low". I wonder how low he wanted me to lie, perhaps 6 feet below the surface of the ground? *LOL*

I'm certain their is a fair share of liars on the internet, hell I know there are lots of liars on the internet. I mean the CIA has a website, don't they?

I would also recomend taking a look at some of the television shows I was on in the 80's & 90's as you might get some of the "fill in the blank" answers you may be pondering.

Seriously though, keep in mind that the whole CIA spy game is done by someone. We take it for granted, just like I take for granted that the Armed Forces will go to war to protect the USA's freedoms should she be invaded or what have you, or that "someone" will slaughter the cow, then butcher it, then pack and then ship it so that I can buy steaks at the grocery store.

The reason you don't have lots of Ex-spooks (that means Ex-Spies) though a better term is either Field Agent or Access Agent, is because most of them get exposed and wind up dead. I almost wound up dead and on more than on occasion.

The point is that just as the butcher, in my example above, someone is putting their neck on the line for The Agency. Some are too scared to speak out, most are probably dead and others (me) trumpet the injustice perpetrated on me by the CIA.

Think about it, the CIA has been going through intelligence gathering problems for years now because "the word on the street" in Suadi Arabia or Iraq or anywhere in the world, is that the "CIA will screw you" and you don't need to be in the intelligence community to see that Humint (Human Intell) is almost non-existant, at least in our current theatre of action ~ Iraq... That is part of the reason we went to war looking for WMD's that weren't there.

I think I've typed up another very long post and you guys must be bored to tears by now but I'll type more in a future post if you guys would like to read it?

Stay safe.

Glen, thanks for you kind comment and I'm glad that strolling down memory lane hasn't been boring to the members of this fine board.

I came across this board and noticed the name and figured that, if anything, I'm going to be in touch with folks who in one way or another have seen the realities of that time period known as The Cold War and some good conversations might arise. Looks like I was right.

If only the beaurocrats actually listened, even a little bit, to those of us who lived through the Cold War. Those of us, who in their own way, by their own circumstances, managed to help put the Soviet Union out of business then United States would be in much better shape.

Those who ignore their history are bound to repeat it. Nobody knows that better then those who witnessed and took part in that fiasco with the Soviets, and personally I think that we need to shout from the mountaintops what we know, from our own perspective be it from military or civil or intelligence angle.

The fact of the matter is that it wasn't the CIA that won this conflict and it wasn't the Military and it wasn't the Civillian side either. It was all of us combined, inspite of pinheads trying to hinder us with enough red tape, forms, paperwork and sometimes completely idiotic rules and regulations.

I'll maybe tell you guys one day about the beaurocrat they sent from Langley with his "I.Q" test which consisted of blocks, cylinders and triangles and he seriously expected to "test" me to see if I know which shape goes in which hole. Not to ruin a future story for you but I made sure to fail that test every time including hammering a cylinder shape into a square hole with a makeshift hammer. Keep in mind, I had already been working undercover for roughly 3 years. The fact that I wasn't killed should have clued them in to the fact that I'm not a complete idiot.

I only mention the above story (which I will expand on at a later date) because it's idiotic bunk like that which made our duties that much harder and irritating.

I'm not certain what you meant by membership but I'd be proud to be a member of this fine community.

Stay safe.

Glenn, thanks for all the info.

I was going to sign up for membership but even the $25 base fee felt a little rich for my blood. Just so you know how vindictive "They" really are; they made sure that I wouldn't be able to collect my Social Security (I'm 70)...

Never being paid by "Them" and then having them nix my SS has made me a little bitter towards "The Agency"...

However, my son decided that this association is something I should be part of so he paid the $25 fee. I'm naturally gratefull to him and really happy I found this community.

One thing I'm uncertain of is that I need to show "proof" of my employment by the CIA. Do you know if I should send physical copies of the Affidavits from Sen. Charles Grassley & Congressman James Traficant or could I just send someone a link to my website where they can not only view those same documents but also actually see Sen. Grassley endorsing and supporting my claims from a National TV show?

Naturally I have my Cold War Certificate and medals as well as other assorted nuggets of proof which I'm not certain I can reveal just yet as it could theoretically be used against me in a court of law.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Stay safe.

Glen, thank you for the information. I will attempt to get in touch with the people you mentioned. Hopefully I can figure out the part about actually getting in contact with them.

As you aleady know I'm pretty new to this forum and not 100% versed on locating contact information on here yet. I'm a quick study so I'm certain I'll be able to manage (I hope)

Please excuse me for calling you "Glenn" I should have paid more attention to how you spell your name. Rest assured I will try not to let it happen again. If it should happen again please just toss it up to fast typing and being preoccupied with whatever silly point I am trying to make.

Boris,

Welcome. I am called Cannon Cocker. My MOS was Field Artillery

I look forward to a good healthy debate.

I would offer this opening.....

Even though we were opposing sides I bet that we have lots of things in common.

Those being

Pay: we were not paid enough for what we did, and we hated it when we didnt get paid

Food: The food was bad. Some times it was good.

Mail: We loved getting news from Home

Thoughts:  We often thought of loved ones, and friends.

That is all I got for now.

RE:Greetings from Ex-CIA Agent Boris Korczak
(Date Posted:03/19/2009 00:17:12)

Boris, let me welcome you to our little group of crazies.

I do have to say I am sorry it took me so long, things have been a little hectic on the old homestead. Fighting
the flu and other stuff. I have been away and off the forum for a bit. I hope to become a little more active now.

I must admit that like several others when I read your first post I was a little sceptical and had to read it
a few times. Then visit the links you had posted, and was very impressed.

The manner is which you have been treated is of course beyond reason, and very surely shows the hard
cold manner in which some of our "heroes" are treated. Many of us have sad stories to tell, but most would
not compare to your history.

I do hope to see you at our meeting in Washington, I am sure you will be quite a popular person; many
of us want to know more of your life. You could probably write three of four books, and they would be
big sellers.

I hope you continue reading the other threads and post and contribute some of your ideas. Sometimes this
thread is not read all the time, and does not always receive prompt answers.

Honoring Cold War Veterans on NPR Weekend America 12-27-08

MISSION

The American Cold War Veterans is a nonpartisan 501c nonprofit veterans service organization incorporated in the State of Florida and founded on August 18, 2007 at The Truman Library in Independence, MO. As a group we are dedicated to all of our Brother and Sister Veterans, with special dedication to those who served during the Cold War era September 1945 to December 1991. Our Mission is to bring respect, recognition and awareness to Veterans of the Cold War era no matter what branch of service, whether active duty, reserve or National Guard. We are committed to honoring the sacrifices made by millions of American men and women during the Cold War, especially those who paid the ultimate price of life or liberty. We intend to see that the Cold War's history is completely and accurately understood by people everywhere. We are united in these goals and speak with one voice.

NDAA 2002 - FACT

The NDAA 2002 was passed by congress October 2001 signed into Law Dec. 28 2001, In the NDAA that was approved by both houses, signed into law by the President, was the Sense of Congress to authorize the Campaign Medal for service in the Cold War.

NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002

115 STAT. 1118 PUBLIC LAW 107–107—DEC. 28, 2001 Code, that the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to that individual is warranted and that a waiver of time restrictions prescribed by law for recommendation for such award is recommended.

SEC. 556. SENSE OF CONGRESS ON ISSUANCE OF CERTAIN MEDALS.
It is the sense of Congress that the Secretary of Defense should consider authorizing—

  1. the issuance of a campaign medal, to be known as the Korea Defense Service Medal, to each person who while a member of the Armed Forces served in the Republic of Korea, or the waters adjacent thereto, during the period beginning on July 28, 1954, and ending on such date thereafter as the Secretary considers appropriate;

  2. the issuance of a campaign medal, to be known as the Cold War Service Medal, to each person who while a member of the Armed Forces served satisfactorily on active duty during the Cold War; and

  3. the award of the Vietnam Service Medal to any member or former member of the Armed Forces who was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for participation in military operations designated as Operation Frequent Wind arising from the evacuation of Vietnam on April 29 and 30, 1975.

The Medal was not created! Why?

Were Cold War veterans casualties of the Iraq War planning?

We will continue to fight!
