The real work is to overide that show up each and everyday fight the good battle for the cause {whatever it may be} its so easy to tear down anything, you folks that remodle & build amoung all that destruction JP,Paul,Sean,CC,Dr.Tims aw hell you folks that show up to move issues forward.

Just as you have done for the nation Happy Veterans Day an a Hand Salute from this brother vet !

LebanonGrenadaEraVet could you explane { respect for me took a brutal turn via Kingdom of Cowshire and down to hell } is that a shot taken at me {being from N.H.} and why is that, my focus has been the goals of all ACWV's being supportive as well looking for ways to move us forward.I have always tryed to find little things to help.

Next like you I am human and I was angry seeing the remarks about the leadership selling out ect. while I agree 100% the National Guard & Reserve belong I could not let some folks accuse without rebuttal those folks were and are wrong its the politics knowing this should I have not have pointed it out nor supported the ACWV leadership ?

I understand the anger & fustration  more so after chasing around those running for President when I was burned by Edwards in public asking "the question" and his reply making me look the fool, so do you folks expect me to blame leadership when the politics of "their needs" {politicians} over shadows ours ?

If I lost respect from folks for doing what I feel is right thats your choice it changes nothing I plan to move forward and do my best to get all ACWV's goals as well members their due, if I fell short I adjust so unless you have an exact reason to state where I am to fault the problem is yours if that is how you wish it.

Last my e-mail address on AIMOO has never been hidden and I said before I'd much rather not do this in the public forum it only hurts us all, this is the last I have to say in this venue my best to all members I harbor no ill feelings other than we strongly disagree who is to fault for your being left on the curb I still offer the ride to your destination as well others.

Most humble thanks C.C. for having my 6 hence my statement " We Showed Up "  is this section, That he which hath no stomach for this fight, let him depart; his passports shall be made,And crowns for convoy put in his purse; I see this as saying it all.

I have no idea if folks remember my saying this when it came to Cold War Veterans I had a saying " We Showed Up " it was about all of us when I said it, when I talked to other people even fellow veterans, family, friends and politicians.

Do you think I as a member was alone feeling that way no I am not I spoke for all the leadership I belive as well, I do wish folks would keep that in mind as well that saying We Showed Up !

For those who shed their blood with me are my brother/sister, I wish that I was smart enough to remember what English King who said that I do hope our more learned members can provide it.

Hey folks its a shame the KDVA is in morning they could have pointed our that they had to keep fighting to include folks after the medal was granted, those members first excluded must have vented yet they rallied and as the KDVA all pushed to include as many members they could get for the award nothing is perfect from the start and most all needs following work to be done.

I was in the { reserves } and I resent the blanket coverage as well those of you acting like this was in place prior Dr. Tims,Sean and Jerry pushed, sweated and fought for all working to get a medal bill to the table as well warned about the plight of KDVA having to keep the battle going from the start of this group oh and remember VM how well did that work ?

Venting is one thing to keep up accusing and saying this was a plan of action from the start even after you were warned about the politics as well getting the foot in the door and that this could happen just trying to get the foot in the door is IMO your being off course, I have spent from April getting our group on newsvine and more into the public eye its not done over night and that pales compared to what Frank T,Sean,Jerry,Paul & Dr.Bob as well others is this how you express thanks ?

It takes alot of hard work getting support from folks while you compeating against other groups Jerry has spent near three years getting  Senator Snowe to offer this after the last bill died its not perfect yet its alot freaking better than a BIG FAT ZERO !

I am so glad you folks have made the choice to be supportive and push forward on your own while stepping on the toes of those who kept it going and brought life to it again how to say thanks and we are with you for the long haul yup form your own group and then what come to these folks and ask for support and I am sure the Congress & Senate members shall be willing to jump right on board also seeing how supportive your being ?

Well I wonder if those folks that busted their ass off in your behalf did the best they could truly earned being dumped on you really belive that, as well how to say thanks to the Congress & Senate members who are being supportive to give this life once more do you know how much you look like the spoiled child stomping their foot rather than the adult moving on to resolve the issues ?

I am having no second thoughts I will stand behind Dr.Tim, Dr.Bob,Paul, Jerry, C.C. Sean and whoever else stands with them to work on getting a more inclusive award not pissing on them, that solves nothing and gets us nowhere next get your venting done and over with here in the forum or please bring it out from the public eye unless you goal is to take a huge dump on this bill !

This forum has a contact {e-mail} other than airing the dirty laundry contact me its not like I'm doing anything important I have time to listen to the gripes, I must warn you if it just to vent blow of steam fine if its just personal attacks on members this has my clams steamed as it is and I know how to delete !

Okay folks my slant on this Cold War Victory or Cold War Service this bill as I understand it is for the service medal that is a major change from our goal to start with as the victory medal died folks we knew it was CPR just to get the victim's heart pumping again Joe you as well other members can look at this as negitive as you wish, yet to quote the line from Frankinstein { It Live's } that monster was not perfect in the story and if you look at today how much of that fiction has become real life improvements in short it carried on from the actions of the people.

Do you folks really think that even if this Cold War Service Medal is given true life thats the end of it, we pack up the tent and stand down after all the prior years by some { Paul, Sean & Dr. Tims } have near a decade in persuit of a medal that it ?

Also what about Jerry,Scott other members who spent years just to get a medal on the map might it be selling them short as well to presume they planned to go to pasture once any old medal came along some folks forget quick that we had as a goal to get a foot in the door and procede from that point.

I am not going to go that route Dr. Tims,Sean & Jerry thank you for giving life back to our goals ever forward members staying back was never our goal and this is not back there, its here and now then the future ahead.

I just seeded a story on Newsvine about the first {Uknown} grave marker to be placed in Arlington National Cemetery in 25 years the problem is the person is known they just have no idea who it was the on going scandal I am now going to call find the vet ?

More information can be found in my section {PastNikeVet} or visit Salon.com {use search} Arlington National Cemetery if this is the mind set of the moment then its not going to bode well for the Cold War Medal sorry folks if I'm being the nay sayer so judge for yourself Senators Collins or Snowe or Robert Gates are not going to get by this entrenched group pushing past veterans aside.

Honoring Cold War Veterans on NPR Weekend America 12-27-08

MISSION

The American Cold War Veterans is a nonpartisan 501c nonprofit veterans service organization incorporated in the State of Florida and founded on August 18, 2007 at The Truman Library in Independence, MO. As a group we are dedicated to all of our Brother and Sister Veterans, with special dedication to those who served during the Cold War era September 1945 to December 1991. Our Mission is to bring respect, recognition and awareness to Veterans of the Cold War era no matter what branch of service, whether active duty, reserve or National Guard. We are committed to honoring the sacrifices made by millions of American men and women during the Cold War, especially those who paid the ultimate price of life or liberty. We intend to see that the Cold War's history is completely and accurately understood by people everywhere. We are united in these goals and speak with one voice.
