Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) is the latest Cosponsor of S.1097 Cold War Medal Act

American Cold War Veterans would like to thank Sen. Landrieu for supporting S.1097 In keeping with Louisana's progressive stance toward honoring Cold War Veterans. La. is only one of two states LA. and AL. both have also passed state awards; NY state has had legislation pass both Houses and was recently vetoed by Gov. Paterson on July 8th. Please contact your Senator and encourage them to cosponsor S.1097 the Cold War Medal Act.

Sponsor/Cosponsor(s) 5:
Clinton, Hillary (D-NY) Collins, Susan (R-ME) Landrieu, Mary (D-LA) Schumer, Charles (D-NY) Snowe, Olympia (R-ME)

If you write Senator Mary Landrieu to thank her, also ask her to press her fellow senator and congressmen from her state to support a Cold War Medal.

RE:Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) is the latest Cosponsor of S.1097 Cold War Medal Act

I was not quite sure where to place this and did not want a new thread as it was an FYI about yesterday seems 3+ miles from home Due South form my home in an area I pass thru daily the storm (no funnel reports) made its way across 7 towns in N.H. starting in New Duram to Alton to Barnstead to Straford to Gilmanton to  Northwood and beyound.

While I am not sure of Gilmanton and towns after I can confirm damage to the first 3 towns as fact the Hollywood Beach Rd is still closed down from severe damage and as of 2:30 Am Rt. 26 had 3 public utilty and 2 police units working on the damage the storm cut threw there.

We lost power for 7 1/2 hours Kudos to N.H. Electric Co-Op from the damage done their getting power to our area so soon speaks volumes even if we have not seen eye to eye on some minor issues credit is due them, just wish the could show a little more respect to me an my property (truck ruts in yard and triming trees) aside from that the job they do after storms (Famed Ice Storm,Floods ect.) show their pros whom hold their own when needed.

No damage here and all are fine one death was reported in Northwood a woman died prayers for her family the damage is yet to be assesed I would say it was extensive even if it missed dense population areas and that was a huge plus given the fact it missed some town centers whom I would guess within 5 to 10 miles of storm scary to think of it dropping around Dover,Somesworth,Rochester as a starting point and passing on for the same distance E to W then it would have been a huge amount of devestation.

In the mean time after bringing my wife Mary to work returning on the Meaderborugh Rd. a tree blocked the road could not go under, over or around Jeep 1 tree 0 in all fairness it was a small tree :)

So on the up side Jason was sworn in as a police officer in Rollingsford N.H. on Tuesday (part time) my son Stephens arm is mending well (broke it) and I have a new lawn tractor (Jason fathers day) as well a new yard back of house again Jason so July has been a good month :)

Wish I had some positive stuff about the medal all I can say is I am trying to build it from the ground up here in N.H. and connect with folks I wanted to thank Congresswoman Shea-Porter for her supporting veterans when she came to Alton yet it was an information meeting about state aid where she spoke briefly and I missed the chance.

Well folks this is all I have for the moment except I hope Paul has survied storms down his way as well Jinxy and anyone getting hit by servere weather prayers are with you.

Glen
