$10 for an Infantry Coin?  Secretary Gates, if you authorize the Cold War Service Medal, I will pledge to buy 100 of the Infantry Coins, and distribute them to active duty soldiers in my old unit, the 1/22nd infantry, 4th ID.  Beyond that, I will raise money so that every active duty infantry soldier gets one.  That is a big number for a good cause, and we can do it.

My "modest proposal" was intended as a suggestion, not a quid-pro-quo.  I'm sure such recognition would motivate a lot of vets to support the Infantry Museum.  Both would do a lot for morale.

I too pledge to buy 100 Infantry coins and distribute them for free to soldiers within my current Army Reserve unit if Secretary Gates authorizes the issue of the Cold War Medal.
