Hi,
I received a letter from Senator Collins, Maine. There is a new bill S. 1097 Cold War Medal Act. I am not sure where it stands as far as a vote on the bill but the Senator and I have had a few discussions on the matter and she is a avid supporter of the bill.
I hope we get some action on this

DOD did not deny Obama from visiting the wounded troops.  He decided not to go, as per his campaign.

BERLIN (AP) - Sen. Barack Obama scrapped plans to visit wounded members of the armed forces in Germany as part of his overseas trip, a decision his spokesman said was made because the Democratic presidential candidate thought it would be inappropriate on a campaign-funded journey.

Back on subject.  Too bad he didn't commit himself to the Cold War Medal issue in the letter.  He seemed to recognize the value of the Cold War during his overseas campaign trip by stopping in Berlin and referring to the Cold War.  We need to continue pressing the subject with him.  Whether you support him or not, he is a voting senator and could issue an executive order if elected.
